Motion against military aggression of the Jews against the peace flotilla.

I attached the motion that we present in the last full council in June compared to the brutal Israeli military attack against the people in solidarity with Palestine.

D. Carlos Gonzalez Astiz, Political spokesperson EB / Berdeak-Aralar presented the following motion for debate and adoption by the plenary of the Corporation;

MOTION

The military action ordered by the Israeli Government against the so-called "Freedom Flotilla 'to move humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population in Gaza has led to the killing of 10 aid workers, in addition to other injuries to about fifty. These facts constitute a "crime against humanity" that require "quick and powerful international political response to end impunity

However, as has happened previously with other illegal actions by Israel, with the construction of the wall or the 2008 attack on Gaza in 1440 that killed civilians, we can only hope that the United States, European Union, and organizations like the UN , look the other way which is also embarrassing, reportable.

As in all conflicts in the world, the solution to the conflict between the state of Israel and the Palestinian people will come through dialogue and negotiation, as has been claimed from the Palestinian people thousands of times.

But Israel refuses to abide by international resolutions and to respect basic human rights of the Palestinian population. The construction of the wall in the West Bank and blockade of Gaza, which lasts more than two years, represent collective punishment for all Palestinians.

More than 200 Palestinian civil society organizations, many personalities and intellectuals, and some governments and institutions have spent years developing a campaign promoting the boycott, divestment and international sanctions (BDS) to pressure Israel in order to end the occupation, after 42 years in the Palestinian territories. The BDS is a nonviolent tactic used before to pressure other countries, forcing them to abide by international law as apartheid in South Africa.

Given the permissiveness of states and international organizations is the responsibility of civil society and grassroots institutions to promote these measures. To promote the boycott, even from our town, can be a valuable contribution.

Therefore, the City Council agrees that:

1. This town hall shows its strongest condemnation of the assault ordered by the Government of Israel against the "freedom flotilla" to move humanitarian aid to the population of Gaza, which has caused the deaths of 10 aid workers and injured more than fifty ..

2. This City Council shows its support for the campaign of boycott, divestment and promotion of international sanctions (BDS) to pressure the state of Israel driven by personalities and civil society organizations from around the world.

3. The council rejected and excluded consumer products, cultural, entertainment and any other, origin, manufacturing or Israeli interests in the state.

4. Declaring Non Grata's presence in our town of organizations, groups, businesses, sports teams, cultural groups ... come on behalf of the state of Israel.

5. Breaking the possible institutional relationships that our people have with the Israeli state.

6. The council sent to the Government of Israel a letter of rejection to the attack against humanitarian flotilla.

7. This motion will be sent to the media, in particular, and all residents of the municipality.
