I am particularly proud and comforted to have managed to take forward the motion that I attached, in full council of Ordizia. When it was my last full as a councilor, I managed to unanimously approve (Ezker Batua 1, Aralar 1, PNV 4, PSE 2, PP 1, EA 2) a motion of commitment to the recovery of historical memory that affects to the council that ousted Franco, persecuted and even killed, in the year 36. Now I hope that the new corporation, perform, quick, well-deserved tribute act by those democratically elected council and mayor and violently removed.
Remember, for justice, not to forget and to never repeat.
MOTION Ezker BATUA - ARALAR FOR RECOGNITION OF councilors DISMISSED BY MILITARY COUP 1936.
On April 14, will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the proclamation of the Second Republic. The coup overthrew the legitimate government 36 of the Second Republic, and led the process of repression suffered by various groups (teachers, intellectuals, trade unionists, etc ...). Among them were elected members of city councils, which were dismissed, persecuted, imprisoned and others executed some people whose only crime was to have been directly elected as councilors, representatives therefore legitimate popular sovereignty.
These representatives have been forgotten until the publication by the General Assembly of Gipuzkoa, in collaboration with Aranzadi Science Society, a book containing both the ratio of councilors illegally deposed in the different municipalities Gipuzkoa, as information on acts and judgments.
Based on the foregoing, Ezker Batua Berdeak-Aralar submitted for consideration in plenary, or if the Board of Spokesmen, the following
PROPOSAL
1. That the City Council recognizes Ordizia in a public ceremony to be held on April 14 or early date, the work and the legitimacy of those councilors deposed by the coup.
2. That the City place a commemorative plaque to decide whether the City Hall or in the Plenary Hall, which included the names of the members of the corporation deposed by the coup.
3. To invite the act of recognition to the families of the council deposed and the general public.
